Advertising Properties

Properties are advertised each week. They are advertised in the following ways:

• Via Property Search on this website
• In a newsletter available from Solihull Community Housing and Solihull Connect offices.  For details on how to contact us and our opening hours click How to Contact Us
• The newsletter is also available at local libraries in Solihull and for a list of newsagents that the newsletter will be available from click Newsagents  

The adverts tell you the landlord, location, size, rent and other features of the property to help you decide which properties are right for you.

Where available a photograph of the property or a similar property type is provided and you can access information about the local area and facilities through the links provided in the Property Search called Local services.

The advert also tells you if there are any special requirements that the applicant must meet, such as age requirements and which band will be given priority for the property.

A range of symbols are used to tell you about the property.

			The number of bedrooms in the property
			The minimum or maximum age that an applicant must be to apply for the property (age restriction will be displayed within the icon when viewed on the Property website or the Newsletter)
			The property has a garden
			Off road parking is available at the property
			The property may have specific requirements and/or accessible features.  This type of accommodation will be placed in one of the three mobility groups detailed below*

*                                                                                                                                                                           Mobililty 1- Full wheelchair access, ramped or level access in and out of property.  Accessible kitchen and level access to bathroom.  

Mobility 2- Partial wheelchair access, ramped or level access.  Accessible bathroom facilities                                                 

Mobility 3- Assisted access, level access or shallow steps with handrail.  Accessible bathroom facilities

 

Expressing Your Interest in a Property

You may only apply for a property that is suitable for your family size. Click Step 1-Registration for the maximum number of bedrooms that you are entitled to. You can express your interest in one of the following ways:

Online through this website. Click Login/My Account to login using your housing application number and the date of birth of the main applicant

• By telephoning our 24hr automated bidding line on 0845 270 1602
• By texting 07781 486932
• By visiting one of Solihull Community Housing or Solihull Connect offices. Our staff will be happy to show you how to do this
• By visiting your local library in Solihull
• By phone to Solihull Community housing contact centre on 0121 717 1515.  Please note the contact centre will support applicants who are vulnerable and/or may have difficulties accessing the service

Properties available to rent are advertised from midnight on a Wednesday to midnight the following Tuesday every week.

You will be able to bid for a maximum of 2 properties during the time they are advertised.  Bids will not be accepted after midnight on a Tuesday. You will only be able to bid for a property that is suitable for your family size.

Please note your queue position at the time you made your bid could change.  For example, this may depend on the number of applicants showing interest in a property or verification checks completed on applicants during and at the end of the advertising cycle.
