Who Can Use the Service

Anyone who has been accepted onto Solihull Home Options Housing Register is able to use the service.

We will consider all applications for housing as long as they are made in the correct way.

The law (Housing Act 1996) prevents us from allocating home to certain people from abroad.  We ask for specific information on the application form in order to check whether someone is not eligible on these grounds.  If you are not eligible for council accommodation we will write to you to explain why.

With the exception of those who are excluded by law, all applicants over the age of 16 will be considered eligible.

If you need urgent help because you are worried about losing your current home, please phone us on 0121 717 1515 to make an appointment to see a housing advisor or call into one of the Solihull Community Housing or Solihull Connect offices.  For details on how to contact us and our opening hours click How to Contact Us.

You will need to complete an application form, which can now be completed online by clicking here.

In most cases you will be required to provide documents to support your application at the point when you are invited to view a property and/or prior to being made an offer of accommodation. We will tell you what documents to provide and when to provide them.

To view a copy of the full policy click here All documents provided must be originals, up to date and valid. Failure to provide the documents requested may result in the offer of accommodation being withdrawn.

We aim to process your application and confirm your registration details within 10 working days of receipt of your application.

For more detailed information contact Solihull Community Housing on 0121 717 1515.
